Under the Mountain
Authors Introduce New Epic Trilogy for Readers of All
Ages
Sykesville, Md. – Prepare
for an adventure of a lifetime; one of two friends and good versus evil.
Maryland authors Dave
and Rose Cox take readers deep within a mountain for a new epic fantasy, The
Sons of Maeve Trilogy (now available through AuthorHouse).
The authors transport
readers to a magical new world where two young men, Thann and Gimble, live in a
small rural community in the shadow of a menacing mountain. Both orphans, the
two boys were raised by Thann’s grandfather and are like bothers. Although the
mountain is forbidden because legend says it contains horrible, violent beasts,
the boys regularly explore its terrain. After one excursion they meet an old
hermit who hints that Thann’s missing father may still be alive somewhere inside
the mountain. Thann and Gimble discover a cavern and decide to enter the mountain
to find Thann’s father.
Once inside, they
realize a whole different world exists. They find a land divided between two
rival brothers, Darmid and Dagda. Accused of killing his parents, Dagda is
driven to the manipulative counsel of Pallig, a dark shaman whose origins have
been concealed by time. Feeling he is the rightful ruler of the land, he is bent
on using his influence and malice to crush the underground nation in his grip.
Thann and Gimble realize they must overcome the maniacal ambition of Pallig and
free this new land. With the help of their newfound friends – Darmid, ruler of
the land; Rhianna, a healer and slave girl in the house of Dagda; and Fenris, a
young monk, warrior and student of the ancient texts – they must rally against
the ultimate evil in order to bring peace to the mountain and locate Thann’s
father.
An intense adventure,
The Sons of Maeve Trilogy follows the exploits of two unlikely heroes through
three books filled with excitement and grand battles for control of the known
world.
The Sons of Maeve
Trilogy is the first book by the Coxes. Influenced by the works of Edgar Rice
Burroughs and J.R.R. Tolkien, they began this trilogy more than 27 years ago
when they were college sweethearts. A mutual love of Celtic history and
mythology led to a move to Great Britain in the 1990s where they immersed
themselves in the rich, ancient culture, which helped them expertly construct
their trilogy.
